Most marathons offer a variety of distances, so there is something for everyone.

Each year, there are many other running events held throughout Australia. If you're running in an event and would like to nominate CFF as your fundraising charity, please contact us by clicking on the DEADLY RUNNERS button below.

Who are the Deadly Runners?

The Deadly Runners are a team committed to helping us improve the educational outcomes of Indigenous communities, such as Palm Island. With Olympic gold medallist, Cathy Freeman as the Foundation founder, the synergies of raising awareness and funds through a committed team of runners is obvious. We are inspired by the success of the Foundation's Palm Island programs to date, but we are also aware that our challenge to achieve our vision has just begun - and this is why we need you. Running in marathons is a fun and inspiring way for us to raise awareness and funds that will go towards building on our existing programs. Ultimately, we want to expand the programs to reach even more children and even more communities.

We put the 'fun' back into fundraising!

By joining the Deadly Runners Team, you are committing to raise funds for the Cathy Freeman Foundation. The minimum fundraising target in order to be a part of the Deadly Runners is $500.

We know how hard it can be to ask people for financial support, so we have put together some fundraising tips, which you can read here. You also get other fun and free goodies as being part of our team.

You can win an iPad!

The highest fundraiser for each marathon event will win an iPad generously donated by our wonderful friends at Telstra. The next three runners up will receive a double pass each to either an AFL or NRL game, depending on which state they are from. The overall top fundraiser for the year across all events will have the unique opportunity to join us on Palm Island (65km off Townsville) to meet the wonderful community that they have supported through their fundraising efforts.
